of Bone Tissue Matrix in Broilers Submitted to Diets with Different Phosphorus Sources in Growing and Finisher Rations Marcelo Emílio Beletti Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia Bauer Oliveira e Alvarenga Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia Evandro de Abreu Fernandes Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia ABSTRACT Monogastric animals absorb about one third of the cereals phosphorus. Hence it is essential to complement phosphorus in the ration served to such animals [1]. In Brazil, the inorganic phosphorus supplementation is generally done with dicalcium phosphate and bones flours. Normally, the rock phosphate is not used, despite the great deposits of such materials found in our country. There are restrictions to the use of these rocks due to fact that they possess high fluorine content and due to the scarce information about its phosphorus absorption. However, there has been growing interest in evaluating the natural rock phosphate as an alternative low cost source of the phosphorus [2]. This work has as objective the identification of possible alterations in the density of the bone tissue matrix of broilers, which were submitted to growing and finisher rations formulated with different sources of phosphorus.

Ileal Digestibility and Bone Retention of Calcium in Diets Containing Eggshell, Oyster Shell or Inorganic Calcium Carbonate in Broiler Chickens

This study was conducted to compare ileal digestibility of calcium, dry matter and ash, growth performance, gut characteristics, bone parameters and retention of calcium in broiler chickens fed diets containing different calcium sources. A total of 96 commercial Ross 308 broiler chickens were allocated to three experimental diets. The experimental diets included a diet containing inorganic calc...

Effect of Supplementation with Synthetic Lysine on the Performance of Finisher Broiler Chicks

The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of different levels of synthetic lysine (sLys) on dry matter intake (DMI), average daily weight gain (ADG), dry matter conversion ratio (DMCR), carcass characteristics and economics of productionof finisher broiler chicks. As 240 day-old broiler chicks were randomly distributed to 12 pens of 20 chicks each and assigned to four treatment rations in ...

Effects of Calcium, Phosphorus and Zinc in Wheat-Based Diets on Broiler Chickens’ Performance, Immunity and Bone Parameters

An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of zinc (Zn) supplementation and different concentrations of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) in wheat-based diets on the performance, immune responses and bone parameters of broiler chickens. A randomized complete block design with factorial arrangement was used (three concentrations of Zn supplementation×two concentrations of dietary Ca-P),...

The Effects of Probiotic and Thyme Powder on Growth Performance, Carcass Traits and Blood Biochemical Parameters of Broilers with Normal and Crude Protein Reduced Diets

Extentet Abstract Introduction and Objective: Substances of microbial origin and medicinal plants, by improving the level of health and condition of the gastrointestinal tract, provide the basis for the optimal use of nutrients in diets, and by reducing the use of nutrients, while saving production, also prevent environmental pollution. Dietary protein sources are among the most expensive nutr...
